Vesper Technologies VM1010 Wake-on-Sound Piezoelectric MEMS Microphone offers voice activation to battery-powered devices of all kinds. The VM1010 consumes a low 10µA of current while in listening mode and utilizes sound energy itself to wake a system from full power-down.
Battery-powered Smart Devices in power-off mode use ~50uA of current, far more than the VM1010 Wake-on-Sound Microphone requires. This results in no variation between systems battery-life using the VM1010 in listening mode and a fully powered-down conventional system. The device highlights a programmable loudness threshold, allowing voice activation to be customized for the desired distance and level of background noise. The system enters the low-power “wake-on-sound” mode when the environment is quiet, bringing battery drain to a virtual halt.
The VM1010 Wake-on-Sound Piezoelectric MEMS Microphone is waterproof, dustproof, particle-resistant and shockproof. The device is robust and reliable, users can immerse it in water, bathe it in dust, expose it to particulate matter or drop it on the ground, and it keeps working properly.
The VM1010 provides a small, sturdy 3.76mm X 2.95mm X 1.3mm package featuring a programmable voice zone, single-ended analog output, and an accessible bottom-port.
